Part-Time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (Evenings & Weekends)

    Your clinical training and experience carry real impact. At ReNewNM, we offer independently licensed clinicians the opportunity to engage in meaningful clinical work part time, during evenings and/or weekends, while remaining supported by a collaborative and thoughtful clinical team. 

    This opportunity is specifically designed for clinicians who work outside of a therapy clinic and want to stay connected to direct client care in a way that feels balanced, intentional, and professionally supported. 

    Overview 

    As a Therapist at ReNewNM, you will play a vital role in providing counseling and therapy services to clients with diverse backgrounds and needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing agency devoted to the health and well-being of therapists and to make a positive impact on the mental health of our community. You will work closely with clients to address their emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges while upholding the highest ethical standards. 

    This is a W-2 employee, fee-for-service position paid by the billable hour. In addition to payment for billable hours, we offer a wide range of benefits, not provided to independent contractors. We also compensate for team meetings, case consultation, and other administrative time.  The compensation range for this position is $53 to $60 per client billable hour. Administrative hours are compensated at $25 per hour.  

    As a part-time therapist, our weekly hours requirement is 8 billable sessions per week, calculated as a quarterly average. 

    Key Responsibilities 
    • Clinical Services: Perform comprehensive and ongoing assessments of clients’ (individuals, families, couples, and/or groups) mental health history to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs and goals. 
    • Client Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other related documentation, in compliance with ReNewNM’s policies and regulatory requirements. 
    • Crisis Intervention: Offer support to clients with urgent or emergent situations while maintaining balanced work hours. On-call hours are not required. 
    • Client Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and well-being of clients, help them access necessary resources and services. 
    • Time Management: Effectively manage caseload and appointments to ensure timely and consistent delivery of services. 
    • Clinic Development: Help establish a positive agency culture that values collaboration, ethical practices, and client-centered care. 
    • Ethical Standards: Adhere to the ethical guidelines and principles established by ReNewNM and state licensing boards.

    Qualifications & Requirements 

    Successful candidates will have: 

    • Education: Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or other related field from an accredited institution. 
    • Licensure: Valid independent New Mexico state license (LPCC, LCSW, LISW, or LMFT) to practice therapy or counseling in compliance with state regulations, as well as a current Medicaid number. Preferred candidates will have additional training or certifications in one or more specific therapeutic modalities (EMDR, play therapy, sand tray, DBT, Gottman, hypnotherapy, etc.). 
    • Experience: 5+ years’ experience in an outpatient clinical setting. 
    • Excellent Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written to engage effectively with clients and colleagues. 
    • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess clients’ needs and develop effective treatment plans. 
    • Policy Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all HIPAA regulations, and other ReNewNM policies and procedures as outlined in employee handbook. 
    • Liability Insurance: All therapists are required to carry their own professional liability insurance prior to start date.
