I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. My academic background includes an Associates degree in Applied Science Paralegal Studies from Central New Mexico, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Mexico, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I began my journey in mental health as a Trained Peer Counselor at the Agora Crisis Center, where I discovered a passion for helping others. Since earning my master’s degree in 2016, I have been a licensed therapist, working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds in a clinic setting. My clinical experience includes helping clients navigate depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, substance use, grief/loss, gender identity, life transitions, and stress management through various therapeutic modalities tailored to individual needs. My approach to therapy is rooted in a blend of evidenced-based and humanistic modalities, reflecting both my professional training and philosophy on growth and healing. I have trained in various therapeutic modalities – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.
I was born and raised in the Philippines, spending my formative years in a place where family and community were at the heart of everyday life. My grandparents played a central role in my upbringing, shaping my values and perspective on the world. At 14, my life took a drastic turn when I moved to the United States. The transition was a culture shock in every sense. In the US, I had to navigate a new world, balancing the values instilled in me by my grandfather with the expectations of a different society. Despite the challenges, my early years in the Philippines gave me a strong foundation. The warmth of my childhood, the lessons of resilience and the unwavering belief in kindness and empathy continues to guide me.
