What This Internship Is Really About

This internship offers graduate students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience inside a working mental health clinic while learning how clinical care and practice operations come together. You’ll observe therapy sessions, support client engagement and case coordination, and participate in the daily rhythms of a collaborative clinical team.

Rather than only observing from the sidelines, interns at ReNewNM contribute meaningfully to client support and clinic operations while developing the professional skills needed for future clinical practice.

What You’ll Gain From This Experience

    • Real-world exposure to the day-to-day operations of a mental health practice
    • Opportunities to observe clinical sessions (with supervisor approval)
    • Experience supporting case coordination, referrals, and client engagement
    • Participation in team meetings, trainings, and supervision discussions
    • Development of professional communication and documentation skills
    • Exposure to ethical and culturally responsive care practices
    • Insight into how clinical care, administration, and client support work together
